sorry emeril but i followed his recipe to a tea, first it doesnt work in a 13 x 9 baking pan, 2nd it didnt cme out good at all..sorry but honest...

This is an excellent recipe if you're looking for something VERY sweet, rich and fudgy. The brownie itself is of the slightly drier, dense cake variety--it's the topping that gives it moisture. The topping is not so much frosting as a layer of soft fudge, so this is not a dessert for the faint of heart! Very tasty and decadent.

Good recipe for brownies. But the fudgy topping was too sweet and ruined a good brownie. I baked it for some dinner guests, it was too late to fix -their faces said it all. Next time will skip topping and serve with icecream instead.

I really expected a deep, dark, rich, fudgy brownie. This was not it. It was just OK. It is almost too sweet. My family did not rave over this one. I will keep looking for the ultimate brownie recipe.
