Looked like they were so much more work than they actually were. Presentation was amazing plus they were delicious. Didn't need nearly as much butter as called for. Will definitely make again, and again.

I served this as a side for my anniversary dinner. It was surprisingly easy to prepare and visually outstanding. The flavor was also elevated since each layer of potatoes was seasoned. This is a keeper. My husband loved it as well. It should be great for entertaining. Using a mandolin is a must.

Try adding some grated Gruyere and herbs to make this delicious side into a meatless main dish. Serve with a green salad and crusty bread. Excellent for vegetarians or during Lent.
