Dear Rvhenrys,
I am portuguese and not sure what you mean but in Portugal and portuguese people here in New Jersey sometimes do use chorico in some beans.

Dear Howard, Are you Portuguese? Yes you can use linguica . Plus you can use Pink or Pinto beans. I think it was very good and will make it again.

I was looking for a way to spice up boring beans and ham and I ran into this recipe. It is really good.. but I only used 3 cups of each liquid and at the end of the cooking time it was still too soupy for me so I boiled it again to thicken it. BUT it was very tasty. A lil spicy and the chirzo is excellent in it.

All my family enjoyed it. One of the best soup I had ever made, and very easy, I made it in no time.

These beans are so delicious. My husband who "is not a bean person" has had a complete change of heart. He said that these are the best beans he's ever had. I made them with the Portuguese rice and Portuguese garlic roast and what a hit! What a combo!

In Rio Vista, Ca...no Portuguese bean recipe would ever have linquica or chorizo in it...no matter the color of the bean.
