i followed this recipe to the letter and the amount of rice drained from the flavor of the beans and other ingredients. could not taste anything but the rice. in the future, i would make it the same but only use one cup of rice instead of 3.

Easy pork recipe with great flavors. If you can't find sour oranges, try substituting 1 cup lime juice for the marinade. Also, cook on a rack so the bottom of you pork doesn't get overdone and soggy.

Enjoy this one! Its a keeper!

I have made this twice for guests and each time everyone loved it - they ate and ate and ate! The first time I made the rice and beans but they did not turn out well in the oven. The second time I made the pork but used Alex Garcia's recipe for arroz con gandules (rice w/pigeon peas and that was fabulous. I can't say enough about how delicious the pork is, as well as the plantains and cilantro crema. We served some of the juices from the bottom of the baking pan to pour over the pork, they are full of flavour. This will be a regular item I serve for my family and guests. Thank you for a wonderful recipe.

I decided to try this recipe to surprise my husband on Easter. The pork tasted great and was very juicy. The moro (rice and beans was also a favorite although it makes A LOT. Next time I will half it and still have plenty for leftovers. All in all, a great "special occasion" recipe.

This is one of the best recipes I've ever tasted!! As a Puerto Rican, I take my roasted pork seriously and this one turned out just like my grandmothers. The black beans were a big hit with family and friends too!! I'm making this dish again for father's day. Dads all over will love this dish.

Make this. PLEASE. It is soooo good. I have searched for this recipe for years. It sounds a bit complicated, but it really isnt. Take a day when you have time and make sure to have all the ingredients on hand. If you look in teh ethnic aisle of your local grocer you will find them all. Its worth the wait. If you dont like the fat in your sauce, cool then skim and reheat. Delicious!!!
