This was fantastic. I am married to an Italian who loves rabbit. Only change I made was I added a small package of assorted mushrooms.
The first time I made it I followed the recipe exactly. I think you could use chicken or turkey pieces with the same results. The sauce was wonderful over rice. We served fresh steamed kale out of the garden with the dish.

Outstanding! I breed and raise my own meat rabbits. And now I know what recipe I'll be using more frequently. Thumbs up from all my guest. The sauce and rice alone is delicious. The meat falls off the bone. Cooked for 2hrs 15min. Thanks Em.

For a change of pace I bought a whole rabbit. Had no idea what or how to make it but found this recipe and it was fantastic. The rabbit came out so tender and the sauce has such a wonderful flavor. I highly recommend this recipe.

Prepared the recipe only using 1 rabbit but left the remaining ingredients as stated. After simmering the level of gravy was just right for the meal. Love the flavor and texture of the rabbit after simmering for two hours.

The sauce was so good! I could just eat the sauce with white rice. Parts of my rabbit could have been more tender, but, then, I should have followed the directions and let it simmer longer. You can apply the sauce to other types of meat like others have suggested. So, if you're not a fan of rabbit, try chicken, pork, or duck.

I have tried this recipe with both rabbit and chicken. It is GREAT!! It was not as difficult as it looks and is a recipe that I use often when I want to impress my husband or friends. It is a great add to the recipe file.

I found this recipe very easy and delicious. My family loved the flavor and tenderness of the meat. One complaint was hard time finding rabbit but, worth the look.
