I've made this recipe ever year at Thanksgiving for the past several years and everyone who has tasted it, loves it. Multiple people have asked for the recipe as well. I always make extra so that I can eat the leftovers for a week. This one's a winner!

These sweet potatoes were delicious. I would make this recipe for the syrup alone. It is that good! If like me, you came home from the store without the vanilla beans, try substituting one teaspoon of pure vanilla extract. Once you make this recipe, you'll be imagining all the things you could pour this remarkable syrup over.

We made these sweet potatoes the first year the recipe came out. Everyone started raving about the aroma as soon as they entered the house, and enjoyed them as well when served. This will be our first Thanksgiving to cook in several years, and the number will be very limited, but these sweet potatoes will be a must and we will just cut the recipe in half. We have read all of the comments for this recipe and just do not understand the very few negative comments. This is without a doubt a keeper, and we just double checked the recipe to make certain we had it correct. Now we really can't wait for turkey day, and thankful for all of our blessings!

Unamously a hit! Everyone raved about these sweet potatoes. I was apprehensive about making these since everyone is used to Grandmas dish every year. ( Using can yams. But I wanted to cook everything from scratch this year. Even my Grandmother loved them and was not offended in anyway.

I made this recipe to go with our prime rib dinner for New Year's day. I personally don't care for sweet potatoes but this recipe sounded so good, I couldn't resist a taste (or two. I didn't have burbon so I substituted with Crown Royal. I didn't find any lingering alcohol taste as others have stated and found the end result perfectly sweet with an orange undertone. I was pleased that even my husband, who is strictly "traditional" when it comes to recipes, thought it was good. This recipe is a definite keeper and one that I'll reuse over and over.

I've made this both on Thanksgiving & Christmas for the past 2 years. It is truly a family favorite. I have requests from two households to make it for them this year. Everyone absolutely loves it! The flavors are perfect!

i made this last year for Turkey Day for my relatives and they LOVED it - even though they tend to be tradtionalists when it comes to food. Easy recipe with wonderful results. I am making it again this year for two different groups as it was such a hit last year. Forget the mini marshmellows and Enjoy!

This recipe is extremely easy and has to be the best sweet potato recipe I have ever tried! I have made it two years in a row for Thanksgiving and it has yet to make it to my in-laws house because we eat it before we get there. This year I am making it for my daughter's girl scout troop Thanksgiving dinner because they asked for it!

We tried this last Thanksgiving and I came back to reprint it. My kids loved it and my guests. My oldest daughter does not even like sweet potatos but loved these because they are like candy. If you do not like serious vanilla and sugar this is not for you. Loved the bourbon flavor even though I dont like the drink itself. Great Recipe.

After reading the reviews I was anxious to make these for my last thanksgiving dinner and was looking forward to them being a hit. Emeril's recipes have always been good but these were absolutely TERRIBLE. Between the alcohol and the vanilla bean, etc. there was just too much going on. My family was very disappointed that one of the most popular sides on for thanksgiving was virtually inedible and I was quite embarrassed to be honest. If this is your first thanksgiving or if you are trying to impress your family I would strongly recommend NOT TO TRY THIS RECIPE. At the very least, TRY IT BEFORE your thanksgiving meal to see if you like it. I would strongly suggest to GO WITH A MORE TRADITIONAL VERSION!!
