Ingredients

  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 2 cups crushed vanilla wafers
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, plus extra for rolling
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons golden rum

Directions

In a food processor combine walnuts, vanilla wafers and 1 cup of the powdered sugar; pulse several times to mix well. Add rum, a little at a time, just until moistened and it forms a soft pliable dough. Turn out dough onto work surface lightly dusted with confectioners' sugar. Dust your hands lightly with confectioners' sugar, pull off walnut-sized pieces and roll them between your palms to form compact balls. Roll again in confectioner's sugar to coat.

One star because zero wasn't an option. Food Network, you ought to be ashamed!

I don't normally review recipes but this was such an epic fail I don't want anyone else to be suckered.

    1. Shouldn't rum balls call for cocoa powder? I added some and possibly saved the recipe. 3/4c powdered sugar and 1/4c cocoa powder to be exact.
    2. Every reviewer who said the recipe needed more liquid is correct. I added a full cup of rum and still had trouble with mine holding together.
    3. I could go on and on, but the Internet is full of rum ball recipes. Do your self a favor and skip this one.

Yum! My cookies were a little dry so I added more rum...that can only be good!
