One star because zero wasn't an option. Food Network, you ought to be ashamed!

I don't normally review recipes but this was such an epic fail I don't want anyone else to be suckered.

    1. Shouldn't rum balls call for cocoa powder? I added some and possibly saved the recipe. 3/4c powdered sugar and 1/4c cocoa powder to be exact.
    2. Every reviewer who said the recipe needed more liquid is correct. I added a full cup of rum and still had trouble with mine holding together.
    3. I could go on and on, but the Internet is full of rum ball recipes. Do your self a favor and skip this one.

Yum! My cookies were a little dry so I added more rum...that can only be good!

What a waste of time on this recipe. Not only did I have to use 4 tablespoons of rum, they still wouldn't bind. It was so hard to form little balls. And when you tasted the ones that you were able to form, they tasted like vanilla wafers. Not my idea of rum balls.

Absolutely incredible! I took the other commenters' advice and used between 3 and 4 tbs rum--I used dark rum--and 1/4 tsp corn syrup. I had no problem getting the mixture to stick together. I will be making these every Christmas for now on I think.

This was such a disappointment. The mixture would not form into balls with 2 T. rum. It just fell apart. I added a little more and it still would not work. I didn't want to get so much rum that people could not eat them. I had a great recipe which I lost in a recent move. Trusted Emeril to have a competitive one.

Very easy and tasty. I used a little corn syrup as suggested for binder, and put in a Tbs of cocoa powder. Then I just kept adding little bits of rum till it stuck together to make good little balls.
I roll them in regular sugar, cause that's what mom did... and I like the presentation better than the powdered sugar on them. Can also make them with brandy and they are really good too.

Super easy. But the amount of rum, 1-2 Tablespoons, just isn't enough to make the balls stick together. So, I just kept adding rum until I thought it was enough, about 3 Tablespoons. They are very rich in flavor. I loved that I didn't have to bake anything.
