Made these for a cookie exchange and they were a hit. I noticed they were strong the first couple of days, but by day 3 and 4, the alcohol content wasn't as potent. Enjoy!

Tasty. A little.... ok very stong with dark rum. Second batch I used coconut rum and they were an epicurean delight!! Definately a keeper in my holiday recipes.

I have made these for my book club 3 years ago & they have requested them every December! Super easy to make & adding a touch more rum doesn't affect the recipe at all. This is a favorite!

Easy. Taste wonderful. Rum flavor was very mellow in the batch I made. Used pecans as we have a walnut allergy in our household. Yummy!

Their called "RUM BALLS" for a reason. Taste great, would not change a thing. You can also use Scotch,Whiskey or Bourbonfor a different taste

    These are very good!
They are a little heavy on the rum. I wouldn't recommend them to those who don't like rum.

As per other suggestions, I measured out a little less than 1/2 cup of the rum. I added water to make it the 1/2 cup of liquid the recipe calls for. Using a cookie scoop (like a small ice a cream scooper I scooped out the balls and rolled them in the powdered sugar. My only complaint was after day, the powdered sugar was absorbed. This didn't effect the taste, just the appearance. I imagine you can roll the balls in other items, e.g. chopped nuts, coconut, or sprinkles.

I made the first lot with 1/3 cup of rum instead of half cup, but it was still too strong. So I made the second lot with 1/3 cup of Bailey's in place of the rum, and they were delicious. Everyone loved them.
