Yes, the RUM balls are strong so if you don't like rum I wouldn't suggest you use this recipe. I've used this one for years. I've used raspberry and orange flavored rum and extract to create different flavored rum balls and they have all turned out excellent. If I share them at work I usually give the out at the end of my co-workers shift because they do come out very strong.

This is a new rum ball recipe for me and I am sticking with it! I mixed all of the dry ingredients in the food processor and then added the wet ingredients to it. I did add the walnuts. I think they go really well with the cocoa and rum. I also used regular Bacardi Gold which seems to be just fine. I decreased the rum just slightly and only put in 1/3 of a cup as opposed to 1/2 a cup. These are the most delicious rum balls ever!

I have been using this recipe to make my annual rum balls since 2003. I give these as gifts along with other sweets. The rum balls are asked for more often than my prize fudge. Haven't found a person yet who hasn't enjoyed them.

I made the rum balls to take to a Christmas party, but after one taste, I put it down the sink. The taste and smell of rum was overwhelming.

This was a huge hit with some guest but a total miss with others. You either love it or hate it. The rum flavor is a bit strong for some.

These rum balls are so tasty - and easy to make! I used pecans instead of walnuts. I made a double batch right away and it will not be long before I make more! One batch equals 3.5 dozen.

a bit doughy. I've tasted better, and it could have been my poor following of directions, but they weren't the best.

I followed this recipe to the dot, but the rum balls were so strong that almost no one could eat them! Maybe less rum or use light instead of dark?
