We picked blackberries this afternoon and couldn't wait to make this recipe. We made it last year and loved it! Thanks Food Network and Emeril!

The crust is amazing! I didn't have any shortening so I used butter. I also didn't have any Grand Marnier so I used triple sec. I forgot to add the butter before placing the top crust. I also used 1 cup of sugar instead of 2, it was still really sweet for me. I have a convection oven and not a regular oven so maybe that is why my crust was golden on the top and not at all doughy on the bottom. Mine was extremely runny so I just pored off the extra juice, next time I will cut down on the alcohol, and cook down about half of the berries first.

Worst recipe I've ever gotten from your site. I can't believe this is something Emeril offered. I have six or seven of his cook books, most autographed, and have made numerous recipes with success. But this one sucked. Rustic to say the least very unpleasant. I checked back three times on the ingredients and can't find an error. Something has got to be wrong. What a waste of time and money! Emeril OMG this was a disappointment. Yuke...

The crust is flavorless (well, it kind of tastes like paste and the filling is much too thin. Save your precious blackberries!

This recipe is wrong! Please don't attempt it.
Crust is doughy. The filling (though tasty is soupy. It never sets, you can't bake it long enough, the dough is impossible to roll. I did a criss-cross topping, because that's the only way I could get the dough to work. It came out gorgeous, but the bottom crust was complete dough and the filling was utter liquid. And, I even baked it at the maximum length.
Please Food Network, ask Emeril to rework this recipe. Something is wrong!!! I would love to see him actually make this recipe!

I made this for Xmas dinner of 2009, this was my FIRST cobbler. The directions were GREAT, I especially liked the fact that the consistancy of the mixture was described in the directions....It let me know I was doing everything right!! I didn't have Gran Marnier so I substituted w/ Orange Juice and it worked fine, My pan was not the right size and I didn't have quite enough dough to cover the entire top of the pan, Next time I'll make sure to make more. Other than that it turned out perfectly and was a BIG hit! It looks as though it will become one of those dishes I HAVE to MAKE Every Year!

I was very excited about this recipe until it was done cooking. The dough was ok, (no real flavor but the filling was very runny. I scooped out almost a bowl of juice and that isn't how cobbler is supposed to come out. Emeril's recipes are usually great, but I wouldn't waste the time or the money it takes (fresh blackberries are very expensiveto make this one!

I have many of emerils books and have made many recipes of his. This was the worst attempt at making a dish of his I have ever tried. 1 cup of shortening has to be wrong. I always follow recipes to a t. This filling was great but the crust was so bad it ruined the cobbler.
