My father makes this dish all the time and it tastes so good. I'm going to attempt to make it tonight. This tastes soooooo good, I wouldn't change anything. I feel like I'm in Portugal when I'm eating this dish.

My favorite Portuguese dinner, especially with some pão caseiro (home baked bread and a glass of vinho-verde! This dish is on our dinner table every Christmas Eve. It's a classic. Thanks for spreading the good word, Emeril!

I loved it! It was easy to make and everyone thought it was delish! Admittedly, I used butter instead of olive oil and I omitted the eggs. I also added salt and pepper after each layer. It paired well with a couple of slices of fried plantain.

This is a great recipe that I have made numerous times. The only change that I made was to add a layer of diced tomatoes in the center (as recommended by a few Portuguese and Brazilian people I have spoken to.

I love bacalhau, and had a recipe similar to this one, but this recipe is truely what I grew up with in a portuguesse home. I add a few drops of peri-peri sauce or any hot sauce to the olive oil just before I drizzle over top. It just "brings it up a notch." Thank you for all your wonderful portuguesse recipes. Looking for a good "Picadinho" recipe.
