I chose this recipe for the cooking method which is super easy. I added fresh garlic & cayenne to mine. For those who aren't happy with the flavor you can pretty much add whatever you want to it, play around with it! Try different cheeses, add garlic, cayenne, onion, bacon, ham, cooked shredded chicken etc..whatever sounds good to you.

I only cook for 2 so I halved the recipe and used 1 cup cream and 1 cup 2% milk. I thought it was a bit rich so I can't imagine what it would be like with all cream. In the future I will increase the amount of seasoning used (never did figure out when to add the rest of the salt. Other than that it was the simplest scalloped potato recipe I've done ane one of the tastiest. Made it with Big Daddy's Blackened Tilapia and Patti Labelle's Fierce Fried Corn and everything was oh so good!

I wonder if this recipe is high in calories! No wonder it is soooo good with all of the heavy cream ... I felt my arteries clogging afterward.

Imagine my husband asking for scalloped potatoes in the middle of a South Florida summer day! Well, this recipe hit the spot! Delicious, creamy, and the Swiss Cheese adds great flavor! This recipe will become a regular part of our fall and winter menu!

At first I thought that all that heavy cream in the recipe would be too much but the fact is that most of the heavy cream is used just to cook the potatoes, it does not all go into the dish, or at least, I left most of it in the pot and the dish still turned out wonderful. I made it for Xmas Eve dinner with a pork roast and everybody loved it. Use freshly grated good quality swiss cheese. I think it makes a difference.

I made this for Christmas dinner the in-laws LOVED it! I was a little worried about the swiss cheese, but I though what the heck, lets give it a try! The only changes I made were I added 1 lg shallot and 2 cloves of garlic while in the sauce pan with the heavy cream! Delicious! Talk about great as a leftover!!!! WOW....this will replace my old recipe for sure!

I made this recipe, with a few changes, for my family for Christmas ham dinner and we were blown away with how delicious it was. At first I had my doubts because you boil the potatoes in the cream - but I realized that is how the cream gets thickened. Well, when I grabbed ingredients from the fridge, I grabbed the l/2 and l/2 instead of the heavy cream. I didn't realize what I had done until later. We dug out the salad shooter to cut up the potatoes - it made the job go very quickly. We also left the skins on the potatoes for added nutrition. I also used cheddar until I ran out of that and so added Jack cheese. With all these changes it made no difference - the potatoes were yummy - everyone was going back for seconds. Now for the leftovers - we just warmed it up in a pan - bumped it up a notch by adding leftover bacon bits sprinkled on it- and had it with eggs and warmed up ham for breakfast. This is the best comfort food ever---the whole family loved it! Thank you Emeril!!!!!
