I used about 1/3 of the garlic called for and added a little white wine to the sauce, and it turned out delicious! 2 tsp of crushed red pepper was just right for me and my boyfriend (though he could definitely handle a lot more. I guess it depends on the person!

I thought this dish was very yummy. It was unfortunate that the red pepper was so overpowering, my husband and I didn't eat it. The way the dish is cooked is great. I am definately going to make this again but use maybe a half a tsp of red pepper flakes. I love spicy food and two teaspoons was too much for me.

This was very quick and easy to prepare, but the overall result was merely good, not great. To those who found this recipe to be too spicy, bear in mind that diavolo means devil in Italian and a Fra Diavolo sauce is, by definition, quite hot. I normally have a taste for spicy food, but found that even 1 ? tsp. of chili flakes made the dish almost too spicy. If I were to make it again, I?d only use 1 tsp., but I?m more likely to try a different recipe next time.

When I made this dish, I accidentally knocked over a bit more red pepper flakes. It was overwhemingly HOT! Maybe I gave it 2 stars, only because I really didn't taste anything else. Be careful with the red pepper flakes.

I made this tonight and will definitely keep this in my recipe file. I used 2 tsp of the crushed red pepper and it wasn't too spicy for us. Instead of linguine I used mini penne pasta and it turned out great.

It just a little less spicy. I only used 2 teaspoons of red pepper flakes and after the first plate my mouth was burning... next time I will use 1 and a half teaspoons. Also, the shrimp seems to "disappear" into the linguine and the and between twisting your fork to get linguine and picking up the shrimp makes for difficult messy eating. I am a picky cook, I will make this again but next time I will use a smaller penne pasta instead. PS - don't add additional pepper, the red pepper flakes are all you need.
