I was looking for a fra diavolo recipe with a little more kick than the recipe in Giada's first cookbook. This definitely delivered - it is a rich and spicy sauce with good flavor. It was also easy to make and doesn't require too many ingredients. The only thing I would change is that I would use a little more sauce than the 1.5 cups it calls to use, but I like a good bit of sauce on my pasta. Oh - and I used frozen shrimp and it worked fine; I just had to cook the shrimp a few minutes longer than indicated.

This is a fabulous recipe that my fiance and I enjoy regularly. The only suggestion I can make is that you use only half of the recommended dosage of red pepper; unless you like hot food! Beautiful dish once presented. Everyone I invite to enjoy this dish really compliments its robust flavor and colorful texture.

Excellent pasta, and very easy to make. My husband loved it. I will definitely make it again, again, again, again ... be careful this pasta is a little bit spicy.

Excellent sauce; a little on the spicy side and that is after adding only 1 tsp. of the red pepper flakes even though the recipe called for 2 tsps! I can't imagine 2 tsps! My only complaint was that the sauce didn't fulfill 1 lb. of pasta. It was a bit dry even after adding the pasta water. I'll remedy that by lessening the amount of pasta next time. Overall, good recipe.

This recipe is excellent as is - especially if you like flavorful and spicy meals.

The fra diavolo is great with mussels and clams, too!
