Very disappointed. Usually I like everything Emeril, but I followed the recipe exactly and it was awful. WAY too much tomato sauce and the flavors were just completely lost in the sauce. The sausage was overcooked by the time the sauce was complete and dried out. The taste of the shrimp was completely gone. I cook with chipotle and other peppers regularly and this is a disaster. Makes me wish I just steamed the shrimp with Old Bay and dipped in cocktail sauce. If you're looking for a spicy shrimp dish, pass on this one. Sorry Emeril, I still love ya!

I loved it, the chorizo was a little too spicy for me so i added a tablespoon of heavy cream and it was just perfect. Next time i will buy a more mild flavor of sausage but it was outstanding in the taste factor :

The chipolte tomato gravy is awesome but the chorizo steals the show. And I'm stealing this recipe to add to my collection. Thanks Emeril!

It's easy to make and would be fitting for a weeknight meal or to serve guests for a casual dinner. With margaritas. Delicious :

I like Emeril's recipes, but this one gets mixed reviews. The chorizo somehow loses it's magic in the sauce. The shrimp is completely overpowered by everything else. All would be forgiven if the sauce was great, which it's not really. 'twould be better to simply grill the shrimp with some essence, onions, peppers, and maybe some lime and cilantro with no tomato sauce.
We liked the mexican rice, however.

Emeril has never let me down. I have made several of his recipes. This one was also a great success. In this one, I left out the Chipotles as I find them to overpowering, though I love spicy food. I served it over plain brown rice and cut the tequila in 1/2. I also used less Chorizo as it is very flavorful and a little goes a long way. Lastly, FN, please bring back Emeril Live!

Our neighbors were having ?taco night? and we were asked to bring a side dish. Even though I love Guacamole, I have no idea how to choose an avocado, so I decided rice would be a safer bet.
This recipe for Mexican rice was a hit. Even our neighbor, Jimmy, who is half Mexican, agreed. Try it. It's easy to prepare and will go with any Mexican dish you choose.
I do plan to make the entire shrimp recipe at some point, but, in the mean time, I?ve got Mexican rice down to a science.
