This was very good! I made it exactly as written, but it was way too spicy! I think I'll skip seasoning the veggies with the cayenne next time.

This was great! Have made Shrimp Creole from scratch and decided to "do it right" with a recipe. Some of the same ingredients, but more of the seasonings were used from the recipe. I also included my usual Creole seasoning. From other comments, I am hoping it is tastier tomorrow! I doubled the ingredients and used canned tomatoes.

This was a good recipe but I would advise you to watch out for the cayenne. I like my food a little more spicer than most, so I wasn't shy about it. I added cayenne as instructed and it ended up being way too hot! My mouth was on fire the whole time I was eating it. I also cut this recipe in half b/c it was only for 2 people. I had to keep adding water to it but didn't add enough b/c my celery was still a little crunchy even though I simmered the mixture about 15-20 minutes more than it said to. I will try this again but will make adjustments.

The hubby and I really liked this recipe! Bacon is a nice addition: We cooked the bacon separately and then added it to the pot towards the end...hmm good! We used turkey bacon since neither one of us eats pork bacon.

We've made this at least 3 times, so it's not just "beginner's luck"... this recipe makes, HANDS DOWN... the absolutely BEST shrimp creole ever. Emeril, thank you for sharing... whether it's just for us or for a company dinner, we totally delight in the dining experience each and every time!

OMG, this recipe was awesome. I added some spicy sausage to it and it was sooo good and served it over brown rice. Thanks, Emeril for sharing.

This recipe was so easy and delicious. It actually tastes even better the day after. I read the all the reviews before I made it, so I was careful not to use all the Essence on the shrimp, but seasoned the shrimp with it. The result was mildly spicy and perfect for my family members who like their food on the tame side. If it's for fire mouth fans I will add a little bit more next time.I was lucky enough to have some garden tomatoes so I used them. I see that Emeril has a few more versions of Creole on this site, but I think I'll be sticking with this one.

Super simple recipe. Very good flavor. Despite using only half of the "Essence" on the shrimp, was still super spicy and I love spicy. Like others, used canned, diced tomatoes in place of fresh. Definitely a keeper. Have a feeling, it's gonna be even better tomorrow.

My husband and I enjoyed this on a Friday night, and it was so delicious and satisfying. I added one tablespoon of sugar due to a bit of an acidic taste. I used one large can (28 oz of Hunt's diced tomatoes instead of fresh ones. I will add this to my list of favorite recipes.
