The meat was too dry and we thought the mortadella (which we love gave the dish a funky taste. It was a lot of work with a disappointing result.

I am of Irish descent, but I have studied and cooked traditional Itanlian from Sicilian to Northern varieties of Italian dishes over the years. Including a traditioanl 7-course Itaklian Christmas dinner to 30 people. This recipe is in that readitional and speaks volumes to the Italian recipes that do not include tomato sauce and mozerella chees. GET DISH EMERIL!
