Yeah? This recipe didn?t work very well for me. Like the other reviews, the chicken is so juicy and tender. But for me, it did lack flavor. It?s pretty bland. I, too, followed the recipe to the letter and there was barely any juice left over to make the gravy. My suggestion would be that you have the chicken stock handy?but, I?ve tasted better.

I have to be honest, as much as I like Emerils recipes I did not have high hopes for this one based on the reviews. I was quite pleased with the results though. Make sure you are really heavy handed with the seasonings, and I did stuff the lemon wedges in the cavity. I would up the carrots and celery in the future as they were yummy. Also, I did add some stock at the beginning, and I could see how if you didn't, there would not be enough juice for the sauce.
    Thanks.

This recipe was nothing special. The recipe looked too basic, so I added some extras (lemons, parsley, garlic, etc. in the cavity of the chicken which brought out a little more flavor. However, it was very tender, and the meat fell off the bone. Other than that, it was just nothing special.

Served it for the first time to company and everyone loved it. Followed others recommendation and added broth. Had plenty of juices to make a super gravy. Served with mashed potatoes. Will consider adding white wine while it cooks along with the broth. Will also consider other root vegetables (turnips, parsnips, etc.

Amazing chicken! I added a bit of chicken broth to the slow-cooker.

This was the most tender and juicy chicken I have ever made! I added some extra garlic and few dashes of cajun seasoning. The flavor from the lemon juice gives the chicken and veggies a wonderful taste. I will be making this often!

This recipe is very simple, easy to do, and very versatile - after cooking the chicken, you can use the leftovers for many things. The issue with the moisture may be fixed by adding extra chicken broth, particularly if your chicken is over 4 pounds.

My crock pot is narrow and tall, and I had a very good infusion of the flavors through the chicken, since the juices almost reached the top of the chicken. I think that the flavor depends on the juices getting all the way through the chicken. As for the actual flavor, I may substitute orange juice for some of the lemon next time, or add some more spices - the chicken was a bit too sour for my taste.
