I can't believe I made this, it tastes like something that came out of a restaurant kitchen.
Definitely very spicy, just a heads up!
    Thanks, Emeril

I've made this several times and even though there are only 2 of us, I make the whole thing and my husband takes it to work next day for lunch to share with other co-workers. They now want me to start catering their lunches!! First, it makes a TON of food if you make the whole recipe, especially because it is spicy so you don't need a full plate to feel satisfied. BUT IS IT SATISFYING! The flavors are incredible and spicy! I don't follow the recipe, word for word, which is why some reviewers may have said it was too spicy/salty for them. For instance, I don't sprinkle Essence on at the end - there's plenty of it on the shrimp when you cook them. But the rest of the recipe shouldn't be skimped on with any of the ingredients. I keep Essence in a tub in my spice cabinet so all I do is sprinkle it over the shrimp, enough to coat. You probably don't need 3 tbls. to coat the shrimp, especially if you're worried about too much salt. And if you let it sit in the refrigerator while you prepare the rest of the recipe, the shrimp will be plenty seasoned.
Truly one of our favorite pasta meals!!If you like a spicy twist to pasta, shrimp and sausage - THIS ROCKS!!

My husband and I like it HOT!-The hotter the better, and this was just entirely TOO hot. I have made the same recipe with 1/2 the amount of Essence and it was just right.

Saltiest dish I have ever made. No need to add any additional salt. Had to add almost a cup of sugar to even out the saltiness. Would not recommend this to anyone. Good luck!

This was the first recipe my girlfriend and I tried from the food network. It was easy and fun. We felt like we where making our own Iron Chef episode. The food was delicious and very rewarding.

Just the right amount of heat. A nice twist on alfredo pasta!

Un-FREAKING-believable. As long as you like things spicy. If not...you're s.o.l. I'll make this over and over.

This dish was AWESOME, but if you can't handle the heat and I mean HEAT don't put your fork in it. My husband and his family including 6 brothers are "full blooded cajuns",and we like it HOT! We cook gumbo, etoufee and creole dishes on a regular basis. It has a good base but consider cutting way back on the spices, because the heat overwhelmed the dish and sacrificed the flavor of some great ingredients.
