Delicious cookies! They look as great as they taste too! I didn't have any shortening so I substituted 1/4 c butter & 1/4 c cinnamon apple sauce, and they tasted a little apple-y so I called them apple cinnamon cookies. They were a hit!

I am not a baker, but I needed to whip up something quick for my daughter's school bake sale and tried this recipe. They came out awesome! Large, beautiful cookies with crispy edges and chewy middle. I took one of the other reviewer's recommendations and added a little vanilla extract and a pinch of nutmeg. They were soooo tasty! An easy last minute go to recipe! Thanks Emeril

Great results! Slightly crunchy around the edges, soft in the middle. I also used 5 Tbsp butter instead of the shortening, and added 1/4 tsp. vanilla. I'll be keeping this as my go-to Snickerdoodle recipe!

great cookie, I added fresh nutmeg and a bit of vanilla as suggested by the other reviewers and I cooked it to the suggested 12 minutes. They are so good I can't keep out of them. thanks for the great easy recipe!

The cookies turned out amazing! Although instead of shortening i used 5 tablespoons of butter along with the one stick of butter.I reduced the baking time to 9 mins so they would turn out moist. I also added 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg. It was delish! My family loved it. Great recipe! Thanks. :

Scrumptious! I think I'll make mine smaller next time. They spread out a little too much and made jumbo cookies. My son wanted to know what the problem was. LOL!
