This recipe was absolutely great!! I did tweek it a little with some of the other reviews. I used green pepper, asparagus and carrot, and substituted the garam masala, cloves and cumin with Masaman Curry Paste. (I bought it at a local Asian food store. The only other substitution was coconut milk for the water. My picky daughter and worst critic loved, LOVED it. It is now printed and archived as one of the best.

I added a bag of frozen veggies (broccoli, red/green bell pepper, green beans, asparagus since I had no potatoes around,
I just made it thick by adding a few teaspoons of FLOUR and it came out perfect.
Also it was a bit on the bland side for me so i added lemon and lime juice and some soy sauce...seemed to help

Defininately not spicy. I did what a previous reviewer did and added tomato paste but it was still too watery. I made a cornstart slurry which helped. I'm going to keep this base recipe in my mind but will tweak it to suit my style.

This receipe was awesome, my family loved it. I used 4 chicken breast (bone in instead if a whole chicken. I did make add a few things with it. I added a can of tomato paste to thicken the sauce a bit and I put a can of chick peas in it also. On the side I serverd a cucumber tomato salsa and plain yogart.
    Salsa Receipe:
    Cucumbers chopped
    Tomatoes chopped
    Green scallions
    lemon juice
    a splash of white vinegar
    salt
    cayenne pepper
    extra virgin olive oil
    Will definitely make this again!!!

I read all of the reviews...and despite what I saw, I decided to make this. Im SO glad that I did! It was delicious, the spice combination as perfect! I used the garam masala (homemade and the curry powder, I left out the cumin and the cloves! Perfect perfect perfect!

I am a devout curry connoisseur and I would not use so much spice in my curry, that's not very Indian by the way and it will overwhelm your palate. You can skip either garam masala or curry powder. Do not use both. Cook with quartered Rock Cornish Game hen along with serrano/Thai chilies (instead of jalapeno for best results. If you want to go totally authentic then use ghee (clarified butter or mustard oil (available in South Asian grocery storesinstead of vegetable oil.

First of all you can use raw chicken and anypart of the chicken you desire, make sure to cut in approx. 2 inch pieces season the chicken with habenero peppers (minced salt, black pepper, onion cut into slices 4 cloves of garlic - minced, thyme leaves and - minced chive stalks - minced, a dash of curry powder. Now in heat your pot and use about 5 tabelspoons of vegetable oil and put about 3 tablespoons curry powder stir untill brown and pour about 5 tablespoons of water continue stiring until water is just about evaporated Immediately put chicken in pot stir untill coated lower the heat under the pot and cover let in steam for about 5 minutes keep a close eye on it to make sure it does not burn after the five minutes remove cover and turn up heat once again let the juices evaporate , the chicken will start to stick to the pot stir ocassionaly let the chicken get brown careful not to burn the when it is brown enough pour enough water to cover. you can peel and cut a few potatoes and/or carrots , green peas while boiling let this boil till potato carrots or peas are tender and let water reduce till it is desired consistence here in trinidad we dont like it thick or too thin serve over jasmine or basmati rice.... Would love to hear feed back try it tell me what you dolls think
