I had shrimp and grits for the first time in Charleston so I found this recipe to try home cooking it. I made it for my children and their spouses and everyone raved about it...What make the dish is the creamy grits!! I also put in some chopped country ham..WOW!!

This recipe is great! The taste is wonderfully spicy and its simple to make. The grits make the dish! I would alter the serving suggestion by using a slotted spoon to serve the shrimp and sausage and then add the sauce as desired. I didn't let my sauce reduce enough and it was quite runny. However, this is easy to fix and I would serve this again (and again and again and again.... Enjoy!

I threw an engagement party at my home for my best friend this weekend. I am in the event planning business and I know how important food is at an occasion of this sort. After much debate, two of my other friends and I came to the decision of serving shrimp and grits. Let me just say that all 40 people attending the shower could not believe how good the grits were. They really had a hard time believing I had cooked it my self! It was so easy and took very little effort. I would recomend this recipe to all of my friends for any occasion.
