I didn't have any of the sauces or honey so I substituded every thing with soy sauce and we loved it. It was a little dry so I will probably use some broth next time. It will definately be in my favorites.

This recipe is good enough for flavor and simplicity to try a second time. I will double the sauce, omit the cornstarch and add some more vegetables if I have them in the fridge.

For an Emeril recipe this is pretty easy and of course it tastes good. The trick with beef and cornstarch makes it just like takeout, I love that. I didn't use a steak, just precut stir fry beef from my local store and I added some bell peppers and onions in addition to the broccoli.
Other substitutions I had to make:
    black vinegar - white wine
Orange honey - agave nectar (2 TBSP by mistake
Soy sauce - low sodium soy sauce
    Peanut oil - Canola oil
    White rice - Brown rice

I am sure his was better, but the family loved it and I had everything else on hand.

The flavor was great. The only issue I had with it is that dredging it in the corn starch made it way too thick. I needed to add more beef broth to make a nice sauce.

I recently tried this recipe and it tasted just like the beef and broccoli you would order from a chinese restaurant.

This is a great recipe as is, but it's also a nice base recipe. I have added peppers, zucchini, onion, and all of the above, and it always comes out well. If you add extra veggies like I do, you might want to double the sauce, and increase your cooking time a bit to get the vegetables to your liking. Great recipe!

Just made the sauce. Couldn't find Chinese black vinegar, so I substituted 2tsp balsamic and 2tsp rice vinegar..also, cut back on the ginger cause we are not big fans...but used all the other ingredients...very, very tasty. Will make again!

I also added snow peas and cooked it with Emeril's egg rolls (http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,1977,FOOD_9936_27820,00.html also. Tasted great.
