"Not bad" is how I would describe this. Certainly not the greatest lo mein I ever ate... but not bad. A good basic recipe for lo mein I suppose. I think next time I make it I'm going to try to look for a better recipe. I give this a very generous four stars.

It's not bad, but it doesn't really have a good "lo mein" taste. Needed more soy sauce to pull more flavor and burry some of the sesame oil flavor. It is quite a bit of prep time but once you start cooking its easy.

A fair amount of prep-work, but the actual cooking is very quick. I strongly disagree with those who says it has no flavor. The flavors are subtle, but definitely there! When I make it again, I will try to cut the shiitake mushrooms much smaller to try to get a bit into every bite! Definitely kills the take-out Chinese urge!

Followed this recipe exactly and the family loved it!! I used fresh bok choy and ginger from my CSA- Amazing flavor!. We're ginger lovers so I would probably add more ginger. Easy to make and even my critical hubby loved it!

the prep takes some time, but change it up with different kinds of meat? Bravo!

This isn't much like restaurant lo mein. Very saucy (watery and the flavor is just okay. My boys LOVE chinese food and they didn't go for this too much. I'm afraid we won't make this again.

I thought this was very good. I didn't use mushrooms because my husband doesn't like them, next time I will use them though. I used london broil and cut it into thin strips. The meat turned out very tender and juicy. When I watched the episode where he made this dish, the noodles that he used looked like ramen noodles so I used 3 squares of ramen noodles and just discarded the seasoning packs. The noodles were perfect for this dish and just the right amount. I will definetly make this dish again.

I made this last night with Chicken and Shrimp, it was very good, I did have to spice it up a bit for extra flavor. I made it simple by adding fresh cut sliced portabella baby mushrooms and i bought the pre-packaged stir fry mix from the produce with fresh veggies. I added about 2 tbsp of Hoisin Sauce, garlic & onion powder. I couldnt find the Chinese noodles and used fettucine instead and it was fine. Would definitely make it again.

the marriage of flavors, simple as they may seem, provide a complex collage for the pallate that gives a rainbow of olfatory delight worth experiencing!
