I read the reviews before making this and was aware of the fact that the recipe called for too much chicken stock. Just "eye-ball it" and it turns out fine. They were a hit with my family... but I think they could have used just a little more burbon.

The recipe was very easy to follow. I used two cans of reduced sodium chicken stock which was plenty.

I'd add about a THIRD of chicken stock called for in recipe - even half the quantity is too much. A whole pound of bacon?? Were we to remove the bacon before proceeding with the recipe, because I found all that bacon swimming in the beans to be a turn-off. A half cup of bourbon also seemed a bit much so I cut back a smidge. Agree with a previous reviewer that a stronger tomato flavor would be good. I'll either tweak this recipe or look for another.

I did use half the chicken stock. My hubby said, these are the best baked beans I have ever eaten. Thanks Emeril!

Beans were very easy and tasted good. I found them to have a little to much wiskey flavor.

I really didn't like the general taste of it. I think the taste of alcohol was too prominent and I was expecting more of a tomato taste. Won't try it again.

Like other viewer, much too much stock. Cut it in half. Other than that, recipe was wonderful. Tasted delicious.

a gallon of stock is way too much. it looked like soup and i had to take most of the liquid out. flavor is good though.
