The dish is a big hit at our house even with my 83 year old mother.

I did this same recipe, but on a outdoor grill instead of a griddle. It was phenominal and a big hit at a party. Watch the flames though!

My husband and I had these twice this week. Thought they'd be a lot of fun to make for a crowd watching baseball games, etc. Only problem I can see is that if you served the hot dogs along with hamburgers might be that nobody would eat the hamburgers, only the hot dogs!

Tell Emeriel this is not new. I made this back in 1950 for a Girl Scout cooking badge and it was called "Pigs In The Blanket". The Beverly Hills Hotel cannot take credit for this. Later in the 60's Pillsbury wrapped the same receipe in crescent rolls and had a different name for it.
