I have not tasted better lemon bars. They definitely wake up my taste buds. Thanks Emeril as usual.

I made these lemon squares last night for a work function and they were amazing. A couple of comments -- to those whose filling didn't set-up: the recipe says "1 3/4 cups plus 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour" -- the "plus 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour" goes into the filling. It's not as obvious as it should be and I almost missed it myself (actually, my crust had an extra 3 tablespoons of flour, in addition to what goes into the filling, and it was still amazing!. I used Bacardi Limon rum instead of limoncello. Most of my butter was frozen, but I cut it into small pieces (cut the stick in half lengthwise, then each half into thirds, then into small squares from there, and used room temperature butter on my counter to butter the wax paper lining (did not have parchment paper. I used a food processor to mix the crust (pulsing as I added butter, then mixing for a few seconds until crumbly, which was much easier than the directions. I was very happy with the result and am looking forward to trying this recipe using lime for another function next weekend!

These have to be the absolute worst lemon bars I have ever experienced. As a trained Pastry chef, I was interested in seeing how other chefs' lemon bars compared. The crust came out soggy, pasty and too thick and the filling was too thin and WAY too many eggs resulting in a leaden mass on top. The flavor was non existant. Do yourself a favor and NEVER make these at any time for any one. You will be sorry if you do.

Although the taste was good and the recipe quite easy to follow, I could do without the cornstarch! I felt like a brick sank in my stomach after eating a lemon bar!
I think I prefer Ina's recipe as it uses no cornstarch and therefore digests easier!!

These lemon bars had the perfect ratio of cookie to filling - and just the right amount of tartness. I wouldn't change a THING! I left out the Limoncello simply because I didn't want to buy it and they tasted great without it. I cut them up into tiny pieces (1" squares/triangles and everyone loved 'em.

I think the lemon bars taste great, and the crust is good, as others have said, but I think their is too much of it. I think the crust could be half as thick, or the filling needs to be double. The proportion just seems a little off to me. Overall great lemony taste though!

I chose this recipe after reviewing a number of different lemon bar recipes on this site and I'm so glad I did. These lemon bars are great! They have the perfect amount of tartness balanced with the sweet and the buttery crust is so good. The only problem with these lemon bars is that they are VERY addictive. Definitely a recipe that I will be keeping for a long time.

I made these Bars, do not leave out the cornstarch in the crust, makes it melt in your Mouth. I did not add the Limoncello and it is not needed ! The next time I would leave the flour and baking soda out of the filling, my old reciepe does not call for it and I liked that better. If you love Lemon then make these.
