THis is a wonderful dish--homey, comfy, delicious, satisfying. As many have said, the filling can be for 30 shells if you stick to the 2T. of filling per shell. I also use dark turkey meat instead of the veal. Also, this takes much longer to prepare-at least a good hour if you also factor in the sauce.

This recipe is absolutely fabulous! (I am about to make it for the second time. It was a big hit at my house the first time around, and I am sure that it is going to be a staple in my household!! However, I do substitute the ground veal with ground turkey. The recipe has such a wonderful collaboration of spices and textures, that the substitution does not rob it of it's savoriness!

Great dish! Restaurant quality as my friend says! It makes enough filling for a whole box of shells (30 or so so go ahead and boil the whole box. I used sausage in place of veal and it tasted great. Family loved it. The sauce was delicious and simple to make too.

They were great! I substituted the veal for turkey! You can also substitute with veggie meat for vegatarians! I also added pureed carrots, garlic, extra virgin olive oil, and cauliflower to the marinara sauce for extra fiber and vitamins! Made them for my extended family and they loved them! Just wish there was a multi grain shell that was healthier and tasted good too!

These are the best stuffed shells. But the recipe needs to say it makes enough for 36 of the shells, not just 18-20. What I do is I make extra and freeze the stuffed shells, before baking, on a baking sheet. Once they're frozen I put them in a zip loc bag. Take out what you need, cover with sauce and cheese, cover with foil and bake them for an hour. :

Made this for football playoffs, friends and fam, all loved it. A bit time consuming, but worth it! My daughter who normally doesn't care for mixed foods, came back for seconds!!

I made this recipe and my family loved it! My picky 16 year old son could not get enough and even asked me to cook it again very soon! The only change I made was, I used ground chicken cause my son no longer eats beef or pork. Delicious!!!!

This was so good. I loved that it used both meat and cheese for the stuffing. I followed it almost exactly, but I couldn't find veal so I used hot itailian sausage.

Next time I will use a dish larger than 2 quarts, it was too small and I couldn't fit all the sauce on top. Also the Essence seasoning makes a lot. I would say reduce the tablespoons to teaspoons, there was way too much seasoning left over.

Very Yummy! Followed the advice of others and used the italian sausage. Will make again. Our family of 5 enjoyed it.
