I've struggled with pie crust for a while now -- having managed to mangle even Mom's 'easy' recipe for the perfect pie crust. I always end up working the crust too hard and putting too much water in it, so my typical result has always been a hard crust.
This recipe proved different. The dough came together easy by following the directions, and my end result is a flaky and pleasant tasting crust that beats anything you would roll out of a box. Great recipe!

I've been making pies for years, and my crusts were pretty darn good. But they always tasted dry and salty. Emeril adds a few teaspoons of sugar and uses a mixture of cold butter and cold shortening, which yields a sweet, flaky crust that isn't chalky at all. You are just as excited about eating the edges as well as the filling of these pies. A definite winner!

I've hardly ever baked in the last 15 years, but with this pie crust I have been trying new fruits. I just love the taste and it is almost full proof.

This was easy to make and was voted the best pie crust at our Thanksgiving dinner. I think I've had better tasting crusts before, but everyone else loved it.

This is a wonderful pie crust, easy to make in the food processor or by hand. Rolls out like a piece of cake! I made it with shortening as well as all butter. Good both ways.
This is a versital crust, good with fruit inside, it is also excellent with meat and vegetable inside.

My family really loved this pie crust. And I added a little something extra. Thank you.

I had been searching for a good pie crust recipe when I went to the food network web site, and saw Emeril's sweet crust recipe and decided to give it a try.It was a great success, It was flacky, soft, and had a great taste. I now have the perfect pie crust recipe to use for any pie I want to make. This recipe is definitely a 5.

After years of making pie crust going through the cutting into small pea shapes and the rest of work, this is the only recipe I will ever use. It is so easy and using your hands does make it a very flakey crust. A child can make this.It was wonderful with my frozen Bing Cherries and I used it with my turkey pot pie as well.I am minutes away from making old fashioned apple dumplings with this same crust.. I LOVE YOU EMERIL THANK YOU......
