I made a complete mess of my oven; make sure you have a liner to make clean up easier or put the pie pan on something to catch the drips. BUT I have to admit, it is very tasty. Mine turned out soft but would hold its shape when sliced. This is VERY rich; so have some whipped cream handy or a big glass of milk. I like this recipe because it taste like pecan pie minus the pecans! Thanks Emeril.

Well, soupcooker, you need to let it cool, like any baked good!

I come from a long line of French Canandians, and now that I live in California, was feeling a hankering for a slice of tarte au sucre. Have no doubt, this is the real deal. Sticky, uber-sweet, and delicious. Made it with 100% brown sugar, since maple sugar is hard to find out this way, and it was a real treat.

    Thanks, Emeril!

Sorry but this was a waste of time. I consider myself a good baker but this turned out like mush. I cooked it longer that suggested and removed it when it started to puff and was browned brown. It says to serve it warm but you have to serve it in a bowl with a spoon. I wish I knew what I did wrong!
