This was very good for my first time ever trying sangria. My husband and I enjoyed it very much. I did peel the fruit first so it wouldn't come out bitter.

I made half a batch to try for my upcoming "Spanish" style birthday party. It was just sooo yummy! My whole family really liked it too. It was very similar to the Sangria my husband and I had in Valencia last year.
It will be a definite addition for my party!

We've made this twice for NYE 2010 and 2011. Last year's batch was kind of bitter. It wasn't bad, just bitter. This year I cut all the peel off of the citrus fruits and it made a HUGE difference. It's a really yummy easy recipe.

I made this recipe for a party last night and everyone loved it! I made it up early in the day to give it time to set and added the soda water when people started to arrive. It was perfect, thanks Emeril

This is a "TRADITIONAL" recipe and as such calls for exact duplication. Though, if it was a very special occasion and being made for a person who loves traditional Sangria I might ask whether that person felt like a little champagne and in that case only would substitute champagne for the normal club soda. Thus, the resulting recipe would have a slight bit more of a kick and a much more festive look and taste for something very, very special. I would then call it Sangria Champagne Cocktail and serve in a champagne glass carefully adding one or two fruit pieces after pouring the strained drink as edible, fruit decoration. For that Sangria lover on their most very special occasion.

Made this for a Memorial Day get together with some real foodies, and this was a hit! Not giving it 5 stars because I made a few modifications:
I used peach brandy instead of the regular brandy.
Instead of superfine sugar, I added a little less than 1/4 c simple syrup. (after today's batch, I will try Agave syrup, honey or Rose's Grenadine for a future batch
I added 1/2 c triple sec.
Only added 1 1/2 oranges because of the triple sec.
Only used 1 regular lemon.
Used 1 lime.
Added two chopped peaches.

Just celebrated my birthday by having some friends over for a BBQ. I often purchase bottled sangria and knew it would be too expensive to purchase the amount I needed. I decided to make my own and found this EASY recipe. I adjusted the amounts to get about 3 gallons of it. I added peach Dekuyper Peach Schnapps and used about 1/4 cup extra sugar. WOW!! This sangria was delicious. My guests really enjoyed it and everyone was asking for the recipe. This sangria WAS the life of the party.
