Really wonderful! I made this for a dinner party and everyone loved it. Great balance of flavors. I garnished with wasabi mayo and sprouts....really terrific.

I had never had tartare anything, much less prepared it. This recipe is fabulous. We followed it exactly and have come back to it many times. The children even like it! We have used the vinaigrette part of the recipe with salads on a regular basis, especially as a bed for seared ahi tuna.

OMG...the Tuna Tartar was awesome, it had so many layers of flavor. I also made homemade mayo. I didn't do the salad, I molded this with a pastry ring and baked some wontons to go with it insead. I didn't toss all the ingredients together since I wanted the layered colors. First, I put the tuna, then sprinkled some crushed wontons, then the cucumbers. avocado, and more tuna sprinkled a few sliced scallons on top. My guests loved it and I will definitely make this again. Thanks Emril!!

This was amazing, I have made this recipe 3 times now and I just love it.
I was a little short on time the last time and I did not make the accompanying vinaigrette and it was still fantastic.

Wow... not only did this come out great, it was easy to make, too. My only problem was trying to figure out what, specifically, "Chile paste" meant. (I ended up using some roasted red chili paste from Thai Kitchen. You might notice the vinaigrette doesn't taste too good on its own, but when it's mixed in with the rest of the flavors, it balances everything out perfectly.
