Ingredients

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Butter a cookie sheet.

First, add the butter and sugars into a mixing bowl and cream with mixer. Add the eggs and mix well. With a large spoon mix in the flour, salt, cinnamon, baking soda, and the oatmeal, mix well.

Add the water, raisins, and vanilla. Flour a workspace and with a rolling pin or your hands make a "snake" with the dough and cut it into several pieces or in a pretzel shape. Place on the prepared cookie sheet.

Bake for 10 to 15 minutes (depending on how thick you snakes are). Let them sit and cool on the stove.

Serve on a plate and a glass of milk; garnish with something that you can BAM! with.

I am rating this recipe as it is printed, NOT after making adjustments.

I found these to be verrry sweet and a having very light oat taste. If you are looking for a sweet oatmeal raisin cookie this is a good recipe. These did bake up nicely and had a soft slightly chewy texture. I chose to do drop cookies.

I will be changing the recipe to include more raisins, more oats and less white sugar for a chewier cookie.

the process was easy but when it came down to do the snake or the prezet it was difficult at the end it was easier to make little balls or drops rather the twist..i think the title is the twist to the recipe that you cant do the twist on the cookies

These were horrible. The recipe calls for oatmeal, which is cooked oats. It should have called for "rolled oats" instead. I added rolled oats to the remaining batter and cooked about 17 mins (drop cookies. They were OK. I am rating the recipe as it is written and as baked in the first batch.
