I was looking for a plain vanilla creme brulee recipe and found this one, sounded good, read the other reviews. I've made many a creme brulee with fantastic results! This was a disaster! Cooked for an hour, and it still was the wrong consistency, still runny but as it was beginning to brown on the top of the custard didn't dare cook any longer. Emeril - or someone at Food TV online - please have a look at this recipe and correct as clearly you have typed something wrong! Very disappointed.

The great flavor of this traditional dessert is worth all the effort it takes to make it.

My friends and wife loved this. I had a fun time making this and will definitely make it again. It was simple and it was really creamy. The torch was the best investment I made for this recipe.

It's a simple recipe that has become a standard whenever I have guests. It takes little or no effort to make, can be done a few hours ahead (or even the day before as long as you don't add the sugar topper until serving. It's so easy, so popular in my home, and so tasty that I don't even need the recipe anymore - it's all by memory.

Just finished making this particular one for the 4th time. I usually make more than my (lucky girlfirend and I can eat, so it's not uncommon to serve this to friends who stop by. The usualy reaction is, "...you made this?!"
