very tasty....there's just the right amount of heat to be a good chili but also actually taste all the other wonderful yummy flavors (not for the people that like to burn their tongues off ....absolutely love the cilantro in it!! This will become a fall/winter time staple in our house.

This dish was amazing. My friend just called this morning at 11 and said he was still full from last nights dinner!! Every single person absolutely loved it. Definitely going to be making it again. The prep takes awhile to cut up all the vegetables, but I promise it's worth it to make it fresh rather than canned.

Fantastic! Moderately easy vegan dish palatable to the masses (if you leave out the sour cream. The sour cream and seasoning salt does take it over the top though. I also added a touch of blue cheese to one bowl and was quite pleased with the result. This will be going in the winter repertoire!

This might be the very first time I have ever commented on an on-line recipe (which is unfortunate because I use them all the time, but this recipe inspired me. IT IS AMAZING. We make chili fairly frequently and have an almost completely meat-free household (with four young children and this is BY FAR the best vegetarian chili I've ever tasted. Even my non-vegetarian in-laws genuinely enjoyed it. I left out the serranos (because we have little kids and the cayenne (because we were out of it, and it was still plenty spicy. The mushrooms in this recipe provide a heartiness, dare I say, a meatiness, that I must admit, I miss in most vegetarian chilis. This one is a winner!

I couldn't find Serrano peppers so I substituted with Jalapenos and it still came out great! Totally new to cooking and I this vegetarian chili came out Awesome!!!

Excellent Chili. My whole family loves it. Vegetarian or not, you're going to like it. I used 8 mushrooms instead of 5 and it was not too many.

This was a hit....Dont tell your eaters know that it doesnt have any meat and they wouldnt even know. The avocado garnish was a great idea.
