I didn't have whole milk, so I subbed 1/2c buttermilk, 1/2c half and half, and 1c nonfat milk. They turned out perfect. Also added 1/2c toasted, chopped pecans. Not too sweet, they have a balanced egg and vanilla flavor. Texture was perfect; lightly golden brown, slightly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.

I did not make the syrup, but the waffles were great. I have made waffles for years and wanted to try a new recipe. I like the whipped egg white, it made the waffles light and fluffy. My son (14 loved them. As with most recipes, it makes too much. I cooked all the batter and let the waffles cool on a rack and put in the fridge. We can just pop it in the toaster oven for a quick snack or breakfast the next day.

These are the best waffles I've ever tasted. I didn't even bother with the syrup!

I did not use this recipe for the waffles i just used the strawberry sauce recipe for cheesecake topping. The sauce was great turned out perfect. I did not have the oranges for the recipe i just used the strawberrys. I added 1/2 teaspoons of vannilla extract to it. the vannillia really brought out the strawberry flavor. This is a great recipe

I had never made waffles before. Now I want them for every breakfast!! These waffles are very easy and taste great. The syrup is also great.I don't have a mixer so it takes me longer to beat everything together, but I don't mind at all. They are worth the effort. My only problem is that they don't crisp up like I would like them to.Well, my husband came up with the perfect idea, put them in the toaster!! I can't believe I hadn't thought of that before. So if your waffles don't crisp up No sweat just pop them in the toaster and whola!!!

I really liked these, and I didn't mind the extra step of beating and folding in the egg white. I used buttermilk instead of regular milk, so I added 1 tsp. of baking soda to the dry mix. Next time I might add some cinnamon and/or nutmeg to the batter, but overall, very tasty!

I was looking for a new recipe to try instead of my standard recipe. Found many online with the fold-in-the-beaten-egg-whites step, but decided to try Emeril's (can't go wrong, right? : Very pleased with the result. The waffles were light and fluffy with a great flavor. I was not interested in the syrup - just used plain maple syrup, as always, so am not rating the syrup. Great waffle recipe.
