I love this salad - my only complaint would be that I find the addition of the lardons to make everything a bit salty. Instead, I like to add craisens for a bit of sweetness. That being said, that is totally a personal taste thing, and I totally have dreams about the nut encrusted goat cheese.

My sister made this originally and I have made it 3 times since. Once I didn't have time to refrigerate the cheese before baking and it still turned out fine. It's a keeper!

This is one of the best salads i have made or eaten. The crew here for mothers day said it was rated a 5 as well. The craeful part is using quality fixins and mesurement. If you go cheap, dont have flavor balance , or misstep, this could be a mess.

I've made this several times all to rave reviews. I skip the bacon and put mandarin oranges and candied walnuts into the salad instead. Great compliment to the goat cheese.

This was an easy, but very fancy salad. I also love the dressing recipe on it's own. I would go ahead and buy the Champagne vinegar...it makes a huge difference.

It seems like I always have to bring a Salad to Chrismas Dinner and finding a "Christmas Worthy" recipe can be a challenge. This one held up. Easy to make and so good. One thing I might change would be to make the Goat cheese rounds a bit smaller, maybe about 1/2 to 1 inch thick.

This is a delicious salad that presents itself beautifully. My husband loved this salad and I will make it again for company. I am not usually a big fan of goat cheese, but I loved it with the nut crust. I didn't have all the ingredients for the essence, but it turned out fabulous anyway. My kids didn't like it, but I expected that. I think it requires a grown up palate. Thanks Emeril!

the nut crusted goat cheese is perfect with salad... even though it is good enough to eat by itself!

This is a great foundation recipe that you can easily make your own. You can use different varieties of nuts, bread, vinaigrette, spices. The only thing that I keep the same is the mixed greens, chevre goat cheese and the bacon. I have made this about 10 - 15 times and I get rave reviews. I even tried it with Tempe bacon and it rocked (for the vegetarians out there.
