This was so tasty. The spices all blended so well together and the chicken really did fall off the bone-mostly- unlike the one poster says...though I used half chicken thighs, and have split breasts with bone in, and the dark meat was the most tender, though the breast meat became tender as well. I dont have a dutch oven so i just simmered it in a saute pan for about an hour. I found that the sauce cooked off and thickened a little more than I wanted, but perhaps the heat was too high. I made this with jasmine rice and sweet potatoes, though I don't think the roti was really worht the effort. I found that they absorbed a lot of oil and didn't rise as much as the photo implies. I suggest just picking uip a package of naan at the store and sticking without that wonderful bread-Trader Joe's has the best i think. Overall, great job Emeril- delicious spices blending together!

The flavor of the curry is pretty good. Without any added pepper, this was about as hot as the chicken curry at the local Indo/Pak takeout place. More importantly though, not only did none of the meat get fall-off-the-bone tender, the breasts dried out at 90 minutes. The cooking time listed at the top of this recipe is also way off, do the math before you start. The roti was a total, even worse than a total disaster. I'm inexperienced with baking/breads and this recipe let me down: The dough wasn't moist enough and it was messed up. Which is fine, I accept that as a beginner's mistake, but baking the roti may have ruined my everyday-pan. It left a residue, I guess of burnt oil and gunk in my pan. So Annoyed!

I'm not West Indian but have eaten at several roti shops. They alway have potato and the chicken is mostly dark meat chopped right through the bone into pieces. I love it but spitting out pieces of bone is not for everybody. Also they always ask if you want "peppa" or not. Needless to say the peppa is potent!

Buying the spices was a little costly but totally worth it. This was my first Curry dish and it tastes great.

Chicken Roti is my favorite dish and I've searched all over to find a recipe. Once I saw that Emeril did it, and after reading the reviews, I knew this was a recipe I could and HAD TO follow.

I am so happy that now I know how to put together my own chicken rotis, instead of purchasing them already made! Now I can have my favorite meal at home whenever and how ever much I want!!

Oh by the way, IT IS VERY GOOD! Thank you for the recipe! My only suggestion is that you might want to clarify that the beginning seasoning medly is actually the curry! I am a little slow sometimes.

Emeril, you outdid yourself on this one.I like to cook, and love spicy food. This was my first curry dish, and it was primo.Just for the info of others who would try this. Lots of heat in this, but adding a bit of chicken broth will mello it out as it cooks down. Thanks Emeril. Brian.
