This soup is easy and wonderfully delicious. The recipe is flawed--it calls for garlic but garlic is not listed in the ingredients. I made it according to the recipe (adding 1 tsp. garlic and pleased my meat loving husband so much he wanted leftovers. I did use the immersion blender and the resulting soup was lovely and creamy. Will so do this again.

Delicious! I added poblano peppers in place of the celery and opted not to puree/strain. The soup was thick and so very good! There is no garlic listed in the ingredients, however it is listed under the directions. I added two cloves (we love garlic.

This is fantastic soup. Couple things - there is no garlic listed in the ingredients, but it is mentioned in the directions. I added diced jalapenos and roasted chicken and used yellow cheddar. Worked great, very flavorful with a nice texture.

Soup was relatively easy, and quite good... we cranked up the hot sauce by a bit, and put in "a good, big spoonful" of chopped garlic, since the recipe didn't say include that detail in the ingredients. We also bypast the "puree" step. Will make this again... will error on the side of a bit more hot sauce.

I made this for a friend who had oral surgery, so I wanted something he could sip and not have to chew. I sauteed the veggies in butter and the bacon grease, which gave it a smokey flavor, added 2 large diced & peeled potatos for more substance using l1/2 the flour to compensate, a tsp of dried mustard powder (like a welsh rarebit and 1/2 tsp white pepper that gave it extra zing. The recipe list omitted the garlic that is said to add, so I used a Tbls of fresh chopped. I wished I added more cheese, it could have handled it quite well! Definately do not omit the worcestershire & tabasco this changed the whole flavor to a BAM!

Just a thought, if you were trying to make this a true white soup, subsitute the carrots for parsnips. You'll get the same sweet flavor and less color!

    Enjot!

I was looking for a new soup recipe to make for work. We have a soupday on Tuesdady and dontate money collected for special kids. I tried it out on my hubby and we both loved it. I used tobasco sauce instead of hot sauce due to we cann't get here in Australia. I just moved here a year ago and used to watch Emeril's show when i lived in the States. I will add this recipe to my collection and advise to all to make it. Cheers from Melbourne Australia
