I tried this recipe without the meringue, and I was very disappointed. It taste disgustingly sweet with so much sugar and condensed milk.

It takes a while to make. I think I spent 10 minutes to get it to thicken up and then I burned the bottom. It was a mess.

Since the others reviews indicate that other people really like it. I would suggest keeping a box of instant pudding on hand, and making one parfait other than 4. If it doesn't work out, at least you didn't waste the whole thing.

    Good Luck!!

Excellent as a Banana Pudding dish, but served as a Parfait it is really a notch above. The flavor is somehow enhanced...and the texture is very refined.

Once again Emeril took something already great and made it TERRIFIC
