I've made this dish a couple of times, with some modifications.... Instead of one big pie I used frozen tart cups for mini-pies (which makes about ten and I cook them for about half an hour. I found the original recipe to be a little bland, so I added more cayenne pepper. I'm still experimenting with the filling too... not thick enough for my New Orleans tastes! I would suggest 3/4 a cup of water and add the flour/water mix (roux gradually.

Maybe because im a but i always find recipes online very frustrating
1 cup of chopped onions???.. there are 3 types of onions.. white yellow and red.. it would be nice to specify what type of onion.. i bought white because thats the one i do most of my cooking with
a can of chopped tomatoes... they only have.. diced, stewed, petite cut, crushed, sauce, puree, etc.. the don't have chopped tomatoes..
and finally
1/2 recipe Basic Savory Pie Crust??? a little note could be nice that said.. print out another recipe!!!.. thankfully i had my iphone and i was able to but more stuff.. not cool.. like i said specially for people like me who are new to the whole cooking thing
ill post how it everything came out

I made this at a party and it was great! I used frozen crawfish because that was all I could find and they were kinda fishy but the recipe was really good. I will use shrimp next time.

What a bunch of wimps my family is at times. I loved it! My wife ate it. My kids wouldn't touch it. I guess crawfish is a somewhat mature taste.

This was a quick and easy recipe to follow. I substituted the water for cream. It was excellent! My family loved it. I made it the following week for friends.
