Wow. SOOOO rich. It's a little pricy, but a nice change from the regular homemade icing using shortening. I use it with Giada's Chocolate Chip and Mascarpone Cupcakes and fill them with Tyler Florence's Chocolate Mousse. Death By Chocolate!

This icing was very difficult to spread on the cake, I ended up adding milk to get a decent consistency. Not sure I'd use this again.

This frosting/icing is deliciously rich and enough to frost a 4 layer cake (which was not specified in the recipe. Regardless, the frosting separated from the cake when cut and placed on the plate.

I was icing a bundt cake (Dave Liebermans sticky chocolate cake, which is fabulous, so I didn't need a lot of icing. I made 1/4 of what is called for and made some adjustments. I melted the butter & choc in a double boiler, then stirred in the vanilla and whisked in the sifted powdered sugar. It was liquid -- but thick enough to work with and turned out beautifully. This is my new staple chocolate icing.
