Went exactly by the recipe. My wife saw the episode and wanted to try it.
She made a great choice. Home made French fries , I used my Emeril's deep fryer, went with it perfect . I plan to make this at our next party.

I made this for our Super Bowl party and it was a HUGE hit. I cheated a little and bought anchovy paste, eliminating the need to make a paste of them myself! I also went with a super lean meat ground beef, so my patties did not "cook down" much. Will pat them out a little thinner next time. And, OOOOOOH how good this will be this summer when my homegrown tomatoes are in season!

This hamburger is so full of flavor and so much fun to eat. I cooked it in the broiler because I don't have an indoor grill. Can't wait to try it on the grill this summer. Thanks for the great recipe.

I enjoyed every bite*****. But a few of my Super Bowl fans were less enthusiastic***. I used ciabatta bread and maybe to many anchovies. The cibatta bread was great, next time I will back off on the anchovies, and mint. It was easy and has a great party look.

After watching this recipe again last week, I decided to try it vegan friendly and serve at our local PFLAG meeting. Substituted tofo burger loaf for the beef and either blond miso or capers will substiute for anchovies, soy margarine for butter....hmm hmm good! Everyone enjoyed and kudos to Ben! Several of the guys commented on how cute you are! wink - wink

I downloaded this recipe in June, and only tried it today---it is easily at the top of my "best" list of hamburgers. Thanks to Emeril and thanks to the guy who entered it. PS Don't worry about the anchovies---they don't over power, but add to the Italianess of the flavor.

I've made them three times now and every time they get rave reviews! Maybe go less on the anchovies for the scared but otherwise it's awesome and a fun twist on the usual burger. Homeade marinara is really good too on this for the sauce. Also baught filone for the bread and it worked great!

I made this for 3, and made the entire recipe of meat, then froze half for another time. It came out fantastic, even my daughter who doesn't like too spicy of food loved it. I followed the recipe completely and it was easy. There are somethings that I would do next time different. First, I would put it on a large round bread instead, to make it easier to cut in the right portions and it would look more like a burger. Two, I would make the meat into more large patties, because the way it is in the recipe it makes patties that are 1 inch thick and that makes it hard to eat and is a lot of meat.

We made this for our super bowl party and it was a hit!! Everyone LOVED it!! The bread we got was way too hard, but it was still delicious! Maybe next time we'll try a ciabatta type bread. If you cook it to a medium rare it'll also be good as leftovers.
