Way too sweet. I made greens at the request of my husband who loves them. It was his birthday dinner, poor guy. They were awful because of the excessive sugar. I understand you need a little sugar to keep greens from being bitter, but stay away from this recipe. I will....

These greens are the real thing. I've shared them with many people who've grown up eating greens, and they ask where in the South I'm from. They're fantastic and they freeze well, too.

This is a very easy recipe with great results--I used a mixture of strong winter greens. Just threw them all into the pot. And voila, a great side dish with meat. Very simple, nutritious, and inexpensive dish to cook.

I used smoked bacon ends instead of regular bacon & 1/4 cup white wine vinegar.
