The sauce had a great taste, but, I would change a few things first dont use that much cornstarch in it and cut back on the sugar.

I loved the use of the sweet vermouth. Thanks to others for mentioning too much sugar and cornstarch.

What I like about this recipe is the sauce. It's so easy to make and quick to put together. The other nice part about this recipe is you can use any meat you want and change it up a little to make it your own. I'm keeping this recipe mostly for the sauce. One day I may make the whole thing as directed. In the mean time, I'm keeping it easy.

I used the sauce as part of a Sweet and Sour Kielbasa recipe. Start by sauteing onion, red & green pepper in a little canola oil. For the sauce, I made some modifications and I have to say the sauce was very very good. I used NO sugar, pineapple juice, canned pineapple or cornstarch. Instead, I used rice vinegar in place of regular, and 4 large tablespoon 'dollops' of Saucy Susan (use water to thin sauce. I made the sauce right on top of the sauteed peppers and onions and then poured it over some BBQ'd kielbasa. Delish and easy!!! I think it would make a great appetizer as well. (On the sugar and cornstarch - the dish totally doesn't need it and you can cook it down to thicken as needed. Enjoy!

I made this the other night. It was absolutely wonderful, and so easy. The only thing I will change next time is a bit less sugar.

As mentioned in other reviews here, the amount of corn starch was too much. I also wish we had decreased the amount of sugar in the sauce as it was too sweet. Otherwise, it was a very good recipe.

Since I'm not very experienced in the kitchen, I was a little intimidated at first after looking at all the ingredients this recipe required. But I gave it a try and it turned out to be very quick and easy and the food tasted great. I reduced the amount of sugar in the sauce, didn't add the vermouth to the marinade and put in a few chilies to make it a little spicier. It tasted just like a dish from PF Changs. I would definitely try this again with chicken for an easy orange chicken dish.

I read the reviews and did the cornstarch myself. It is easier to add more than the opposite. I do think next time I will omit the last part of putting the pork into the sauce. This will allow me to make less pork and not smother in sauce. It is sort of like the way you get when ordering delivery. I had not purchased this much pork and had I done this, I would have not overwhelmed it in sauce. Also, I made the sauce in advance. This helps because you can always warm up when ready and THEN do the cornstarch after you bring back to a boil.

Great recipe, family loved it. I used fresh pineapple chunks and simmered(add a little extra water til fork tender. Works with left over cooked chicken as well. based on previous reviews I was cautious with the cornstarch.

Wish I had read the reviews before making it. Way too much cornstarch called for in recipe. After adding about a cup of water to offset the 4 Tablespoons of cornstarch it still turned out great. Will definitely make it again.
