These were really good, this was my first time ever making them and I will def. do it again!! They were super easy to make too...i did a few mods, I'm a big fan of nuts so i doubled the pecans and also added walnuts...yum yum, also used pumpkin pie spice instead of allspice n cloves, they are really sweet though so watch out! But worth it!

I followed this recipe exactly as written and it turned out excellent the first time! I used a mortar and pestal to ground 5 whole cloves and then further ground the brown sugar, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg ingredients with it. Don't worry if the size doesn't double when you let it rise in the oven- mine didn't, but when I baked them, they doubled. Everyone will want this recipe!

These sticky buns are outstanding!!!! I was initially hesitant about the use of frozen bread dough, but with the other ingredients, the buns did not have a bread-like taste...sweet sticky bun taste permeated throughout! Instead of Jack Daniels, which I did have, I used butterscotch schnapps..whee doggie! I doubled the filling recipe, using cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, and about 1/4 c. toasted chopped pecans; no allspice or cloves (the pumpkin pie spice has the perfect ratio of these two potentially overwhelming spices. I simply can't wait until my husband comes home to give these a taste...I'll take the leftovers to work and instruct my friends to microwave them for about 20 seconds. I just hope there is something to share tomorrow.

Although I altered the recipe slightly, they sure turned out fabuluous. For mixture in bottom of pan I used 1/4 cup of Caro syrup in place of honey, in place of 1/4 cup Caro Syrup, and in place of the Tennessee whiskey, I used 1/4 cup Drambuie (A Scotland made Liqueur crafted with aged malt whiskies, spiced honey, and a recipe kept secret since 1745. In the beginning, I roasted 1 cup coarsely crushed pecans, using 2/3 cup for the mixture in bottom of pan and 1/3 cup mixed in with cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and brown sugar filling.
In the filling, I also substituted soft butter, and just buttered the dough, rather than brushed with melted butter. I used 2 tablespoons of cinnamon, with only a dash of nutmeg and a dash allspice and left out the cloves altogether.
The only downfall I could see a person not liking is that the mixture gets like a crackling pecan candy when hardens, didnt bother me, and a few seconds in the microwave cures this easily. May have to change the name to Scottish Spiked Pecan Sticky Buns, as Drambiue is a Scottish liquour and I am a full blooded Scot, as well. Try this version and let me know what you think. And thanks to Emeril for a solid recipe to alter and make my own.

I've taken these to many functions and they've always been a hit. I've also used Amaretto instead of JD which makes the caramel a bit sweeter. Coffee liqueur would also be a nice substitution. I always cut the needed cloves in half. Excellent recipe!

Yum and easy! I doubled the amount of pecans (love pecans and they were fabulous. I paired this with his Crawfish Quiche and Bloody Mary's for a southern style brunch. Total hit!
