Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar, plus 1/4 cup sugar for sugaring glass rim
  • 1 lemon, zested
  • 1 lime, zested
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced saving the remaining 1/2 lemon for coating glass rim
  • 3/4 cup Prosecco
  • 2 tablespoons amaretto liqueur
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon and lime slices, for garnish

Directions

To make the simple syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 1/4 cup of water with 1/2 cup of sugar over medium heat. Bring to a boil and stir until all the sugar is dissolved. Take pan off heat and set aside to cool.

For the sugar rims: In a shallow bowl, combine 1/4 cup of sugar with the lemon and lime zest. Rub the lemon around the glass rim, making sure to evenly coat both inside and out. Lightly press the rim into the sugar to frost.

In a small pitcher, combine the Prosecco, amaretto liqueur, lemon juice, and 2 tablespoons of cooled simple syrup. Pour into the sugared glass over ice.

Garnish with a slice of lemon and a slice of lime.

    Almost Too Good!

This looked too strange to believe, so I had to try it. Holy Cow! Stock up, get out the good flutes and hide away your car... keys! You'll make more of this than you should.Read more

    Make it to taste!

This was good. Pay attention to the alcohol content of your amaretto liquoer, though. If it is around 28% alcohol, use the... simple syrup. If it is closer to 18% alcohol (as it was in my case) the simple syrup will make it too sweet.Read more

    Wonderful!

Much, much better than your average and overly sweet amaretto-and-sour-mix concoction. Wonderful and refreshing.
