    Delicious!

Loved the tuna mixture, but my favorite part was the garbanzo bean/hummus spread. Soooo yummy! I've never put mint in hummus, but wow! Really good!

I will definitely make these again. My husband thought it was yummy too.

Also - I did not use anywhere near as much oil as the recipe suggested. And I also did not have arugula this time, unfortunately, but it was still yummy.

Very flavorful and easy to prepare. I would suggest using a little less olive oil because it did become a bit too oily using 2/3 cup as directed. Otherwise, wonderful and fast.

This is our new favorite "healthy" sandwich. Agree 100% about reducing the amount of EVOO. Also, if we want to make it in a pinch then I simply use hummus from the grocery instead of making the spread from scratch. YUM!!

Absolutely delicious combination. The chick pea spread is amazing, complements the tuna, artichoke and olives nicely. I would use the chickpea spread for many other sandwiches as well. This recipe is very healthy and clean tasting, will definitely use it regularly. (I used only 1/4 cup evoo however. Very eye appealing as well, makes a nice presentation.

1st - she said to check with the mom to be to make sure she likes what you're serving.

2nd.- Tuna is NOT on the FDA list for fish that have a high level of mercury.

    from fda.org

    * Five of the most commonly eaten fish that are low in mercury are shrimp, canned light tuna, salmon, pollock, and catfish.
    * Another commonly eaten fish, albacore ("white" tuna has more mercury than canned light tuna. So, when choosing your two meals of fish and shellfish, you may eat up to 6 ounces (one average meal of albacore tuna per week.

You can't really go wrong with tuna and olives, in my opinion.

However, I was really surprised to see anyone suggesting tuna in a dish for a baby shower, since pregnant women are generally advised to avoid tuna because of the mercury content.

At the end of the show, I kept expecting Giada's pregnant friend to say, "Gosh, I'm sorry, but I can't eat this."

We really love this recipe. It's the best tuna sandwich I've ever had, and everyone I've served it to says the same thing. I have altered the recipe as follows to suit my needs. First, I thought there was way too much olive oil in the tuna mixture, so I cut it from 2/3cup to 1/4cup, although I'm beginning to wonder why it's present at all. I don't add salt to the garbanzo bean spread because I really don't think it's necessary. I also add more mint than there is in the recipe. I can't really say how much because it varies. I grow my own mint and can't harvest too much because it's spread all over the yard, and I also really enjoy harvesting it. The smell is fantastic! Anyway, I harvest more than I should and I use whatever I can from harvesting in the spread, but I like it quite well with more mint in it. Great idea, Giada! Bravo for creating the perfect tuna sandwich.

I made these sandwiches tonight. I used canned tuna in water instead of tuna in oil because that is what I had. The only thing I'd do differently next time I make them would be to put less olive oil in the recipe because it was dripping out of the sandwiches. I agree with another reviewer that this probably was a typo in the instructions. Otherwise, these were great!!
