I just sent my version of this recipe to my mother-in-law because I made it while they were out here, and my father-in-law loved it and has asked for the recipe.

I modified the recipe slightly. I use a little bit more garlic and shallots, and I saute them first to carmelize the onions. I also use a little more oil, and I spread it on the sides of the bread, too. I don't use as much salt as Giada's recipe calls for, either. And I chop the rosemary before sprinkling.

Also, be sure to follow the directions for your pizza dough. I use Trader Joe's, and it only takes about 15 minutes to cook.

The combo of sweet and savory is just delicious. I pair this with steak instead of making potatoes. Big hit!

Garlic and herbs made this focaccia really flavorful.
I made my own pizza dough and it worked perfectly for this recipe.
(250g bread flour, 160ml water, 2g dry yeast, 4g salt, 3g olive oil

Just made this tonight along with a baked Ziti from Bon Appetit. This was amazing! I used the fresh pizza dough from Trader Joe's. I only had red grapes so I used 1cup of them totaling the amount called for. My hubby loved the whole dinner! Try the 11/94 recipe from Epicurious called" Baked Ziti with Spinach and Tomatoes" and serve this bread with it. We were going to head out for dinner and have some Italian food. Instead this meal was equal to better than what we most likely would have had! Giada this is a real keeper and very impressive. It has the salty, herb, savory and sweet all going on. Who would have thought grapes, Amazing!

Can't wait to make this one again! Don't let the grapes throw you. The combination of sweet and savory is incredible.

OMG is this ever a delicious combo of flavors! The only change I made was to use Kosher salt. I am not a salt person except it works great as a weed & grass killer in cracks of my sidewalk. This dish was a hit from day one although I must admit I kept looking at the recipe after seeing Giada make it on Food TV. So glad I tried it~~I make it all the time for the "Italian Sister Foodies". Thanks Giada for your appearance at Turning Stone, Verona, NY, my son & daughter-in-law were there and they love you too. CIAO

Grapes on focaccia isn't too common so I was a little skeptical about making this recipe. But after reading the good reviews and seeing the show, I decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did! This bread is sooo goood! The only thing I disliked was having the taste of strong sea salt in each bite. Maybe next time I'll use fine sea salt instead of coarse.

This was such a treat. I absolutely loved the contrast in flavors - the sweet grapes and the savory garlic and shallots. What an easy appetizer to prepare using store bought pizza dough. This will be a staple for a long time to come.
